Sir, – The German finance minister has confirmed for all what a funny old world we live in.
"The perception that this [Cyprus] problem can be solved only by taxpayers in the euro zone without the participation of major creditors of Cypriot banks cannot be accepted by Europe's citizens," Wolfgang Schäuble told the Greek daily Ta Nea in an interview (News, March 22nd).
Do as I say and not as I do? Yet only here in Ireland do we continue to defy the “Schäuble” principle, by imposing all bank losses on (Irish) EU citizens on an ongoing basis, a policy imposed by, among others, Wolfgang Schäuble. – Yours, etc,
