Sir, - Kevin Myers has every right to his opinions. The Irish Times has every right to continue publishing these. Neither, however, has the right to present as fact what is untrue. In his Irishman's Diary of September 24th he makes a number of claims that are untrue. Among these are:
1. That in its recent statement on the forthcoming Budget the Conference of Religious of Ireland proposed the Government should increase taxes.
2. That religious are exempt from tax.
