Crisp response

A chara, – It has recently come to my notice that a well-known British coffee chain operating in this country is stocking its outlets with Tyrrells crisps, also a well-known British brand. The crisp packets come with the slogan “Supporting British Pubs” emblazoned on the front. Apart from taking issue with an Irish franchise stocking imported crisps when we have plenty of our own brands, one has to wonder at the culturally tone-deaf and logically impaired decision by the franchisee to stock a product with such a slogan in an outlet that is neither British nor a pub! One might also ask if a coffee franchise in the Netherlands or France would be so supportive of British pubs? Or maybe I should take this whole thing with a pinch of salt? – Yours, etc,
