Customer experience

Sir, – Conor Pope’s article identifies Eir as the worst company for customer experience in Ireland in 2021 (Pricewatch, November 8th).

I can confirm this was also our experience. However, I am pleased to say our situation was eventually sorted out with the assistance of ComReg. Surely it must be a real wake-up call for the communications sector that three companies – Virgin Media, Sky, and Eir – feature in Pope’s “bottom of the pile” list.

Obviously, customer service is not ranked as a priority. This sector is banking on customer inertia by putting so many obstacles in the way of changing provider.

It is high time the senior managements in this sector addressed the poor level of customer service. – Yours, etc,
