Sir, – Fred A English (June 18th) proposed an “all hands on deck” attitude to achieving savings in the HSE.
He painted a picture of a consultant cleaning his own operating theatre as a way of saving money. I suspect that hiring a contract cleaner at €15 an hour would work out cheaper than a consultant at over €100. I could be wrong, but it seems to me like we’d just be hiring the world’s most expensive contract cleaner. – Yours, etc,
