Sir, - I write in response to Sean O'Sullivan's letter (September 19th) about the appalling state of the roads from the point of view of the cyclist. May I suggest that, rather than waiting for more money from the EU to pay for cycle tracks, cyclists actually pay road tax, as their fellow road users do. At least then cyclists would have the same right to complain about the state of the roads as the beleaguered motorists do! - Yours, etc.,
