Sir, – Following on the observations that Dublin Airport parking charges have increased by more than 100 per cent over the past year (News, April 25th), I noted with interest that the reasoning for this, as outlined by the DAA spokesperson, was due to "a dynamic pricing model which is influenced by factors such as demand [and] time of year".
That spokesperson could have saved themselves the energy required to articulate such verbal nonsense by using just the one word which I believe is the cause of the price increases: “greed”.

Sir, – DAA explains the large increase in parking charges by reference to increased demand. Of course higher demand enables higher prices but, as with property rental, it does not force it.
