Sir, - Could I just ask a question through your Letters page? James Fryar (February 4th) says that the experts say that levels of radiation from Sellafield are safe, and I do take their words as truth. However, we are also told that radiation from mobile phone masts are at safe levels: so too for mobile phones, microwaves, computers, CD players and other electronic equipment. Well, could I ask what happens when you combine all these "safe levels" of radiation to which we are exposing ourselves and our families?
One other thing: an article on your Science Today page last September said that radiation levels "do not pose a significant health risk". Could someone explain "significant", please? - Yours, etc., Mona Creedon,
