Madam, - I have moved to Dublin recently from the UK. I have quickly grown to love most aspects of the city, apart from the state of the streets.
I have lived in central London and the North of England and I have travelled extensively around the world and I have never encountered streets so disgusting and so ingrained with filth anywhere else.
There are never enough litter bins and those that are provided are usually overflowing. The pavements, especially on the quays, look as if they haven't had a scrub since the Vikings invaded.
A wonderful capital city, which prides itself on being at the heart of a modern Europe, is severely let down by so much dirt. - Yours, etc.,
