Madam, - Brendan McWilliams was a very good friend to science and to society. His column, unique in style and perspective, served as a bridge between science and the arts. Only last March, he chaired an Institute of Physics in Ireland (IOPI) debate on climate change. He did it with an eloquence and grace that were unique, like many other aspects of the man.
