Debate On Abortion

Sir, - Ivana Bacik continues to engage in unoriginal and predictable semantics about abortion (October 12th). Although undeniably learned and intelligent, she sees the effort women make to get to England for an abortion as the tragedy, not the resultant death of the child or the life-long wounding of the mother.

Pro-abortion proponents consistently deny the statistical, social and medical evidence that abortion is not a natural or safe choice. Invariably, they neglect the fact that life isn't just for this world but also the next. Nor do they seem able to come up with any real alternatives to prevent unwanted pregnancy, other than measures that corrupt our young, thwart or extinguish life and promote the promiscuous lifestyles that give rise to the problem in the first place. Enough of the convoluted arguments from the pro-abortion camp. - Yours, etc.,
