A chara, - May I please comment on Ivana Bacik's letter (June 7th)? In abortion, as in everything else, it is not the sinner who is to be condemned, but the sin.
Mother Teresa was surely the most compassionate person in our era, but she had no hesitation in calling abortion "murder", since it is the killing of another person. "Termination of pregnancy" is simply a deceptive euphemism. The Holy Father calls it a "heinous crime".
It is hard to understand how any nation that calls itself civilised can tolerate the killing of a pre-born child at any stage. - Is mise,
