Madam, - The Literary and Debating Society of the National University of Ireland, Galway, formerly UCG and QCG, is striving to engender a history of the society since its founding in 1846.
The society is seeking recollections and memorabilia from former members. Of particular importance are the 1940s and 1950s - records of the meetings convened during those years are currently missing from the university's James Hardiman Library.
Records are also sparse for the years before 1930, and it is hoped that some of these may be restored to the Society's archives through this appeal.
