Madam, - I read, and reread, Derek Evans's wonderful and enlightening article about the restoration of the River Carron in Scotland (Angling Notes, September 19th).
This encouraging and outstanding achievement is in stark contrast to the Government-backed, systematic destruction and degradation of our fisheries here in Ireland. - Yours, etc,
