Madam, - It is a pity to see a newspaper of the status of The Irish Times leading its weekly guide to entertainment with the pseudo-profundities of media hype surrounding The Da Vinci Code.
I think we can all accept the book and the film as a breezy flight of imagination, but do we have to have The Irish Times adding wind to this over-inflated Hollywood balloon?
In 12 months' time we will all have moved on and the media will be trading in some other currency. The harm done will not be to the truth, but you will have helped to cheapen the values and beliefs by which millions of people try to order their lives. - Yours, etc,
FRANK MURRAY, Glenageary, Co Dublin.
