Sir, - I was outraged by a statement by Gerry Adams "In my view the IRA has never deliberately targeted civilians", delivered in Canada this week. Who does he think he is fooling? Not Canadians that's for sure.
I am happy to say that most citizens of this country I have talked to about the issue or have heard on the radio, are well aware that this was definitely not the case during the IRA's terrorist campaign and that they remember the deliberate bombings targeting civilians in Britain throughout the last 30 years.
Gerry Adams is barking up the wrong tree if he thinks Canadians are as gullible as Americans have been in the past concerning the IRA and its ideology. - Yours, etc.,
Rebecca Goulding, Vancouver, Canada.
