Madam, - According to your columnist Kevin Myers, there is a new TD in the Dáil: David Staunton. The perils of an evil twin.
What a pity the ferocity and veracity of Mr Myers's rant (An Irishman's Diary, January 9th) didn't quite match on this occasion. Unlike your columnist, the country's legislators strive for correctness in both the terminology and definitions used when drafting the laws by which the citizens of this Republic will live.
More pitiful still is that Mr Myers managed to write an unhelpful and ill-informed article on disability, a topic infinitely more important than his regular outings in your newspaper. - Yours, etc.,
