Sir, - Like Ronan O Dubhain (October 9th), my daughter and her family were obliged to wait for a full hour in the baggage hall at Dublin Airport for the arrival of their suitcases, after their flight home from Mahon on September 25th.

With the short-term car parking charge at £1.60 per hour or part thereof, it is reasonable to deduce that - in connection with that flight alone - several dozen car drivers had that extra hour's charge added to their parking fee.

Unless Aer Rianta is deliberately in the business of fleecing its customers, it may feel conscience-bound to put some mechanism in place which would avoid blatant over-charging for delays not of the customer's making. - Yours, etc.,
