Madam, - I had been wanting to visit Dublin for many years but the opportunity came only recently when my new partner paid for a three-day holiday here as a 65th birthday present.
Having been a Guinness drinker for nearly 50 years, I jumped at the chance to see where the great drink was made, as part of the city tour. It was very interesting experience - and I have made an offer to buy the penthouse suite at the Guinness Store! Everything I had heard about Dublin (all good) I found to be true in my short stay: the city has an extraordinary charm and character, from the humour of the tour guides to the friendliness and helpfulness of the people, to the fascinating mixture of old and new architecture. It is a great walking and talking town. I'll be back - and thanks to everyone who made my brief encounter so unforgettable. - Yours, etc,
NEIL FOSTER, St Helens, Merseyside, England.
