Madam, - I write to laud the new Irishman's Diary by Frank McNally. He lifts my spirits with his down-to-earth humour.
His article of August 15th on Anthony Trollope was most informative and ended by telling us that "under John Major, it was quite the vogue for Conservative politicians to go to bed with a Trollope".
