Sir, - It is with growing frustration that I have been listening to taxi-drivers complaining about deregulation. I cannot remember the last time I got into a taxi and didn't have to give the driver directions to my destination. As the passengers do so much of the taxi-drivers job for them, perhaps we can share in some of this compensation they're whining about! I'd hate to see any of them compete with London cabbies and their "Knowledge". Perhaps they should be subjected to a similar test before anyone even considers handing them even more money. - Yours, etc.,
