Sir, - Eileen Battersby's article, "Right of access to our heritage is being eroded" (Opinion, May 4th) made for depressing reading. We in Ardmore must hold the national record for disastrous planning decisions being foisted upon us.
For 1,600 years, St Declan's Well and Hermitage has survived as possibly the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Ireland. Waterford County Council is now proposing to rezone the land for "development", right up to the entrance to this sacred site.
If anyone else finds this alarming, please let the members of Waterford County Council in Dungarvan know your views before Friday, May 31st. -Yours, etc.,
MARY LINCOLN,
