Madam, - With much discussion taking place in relation to protecting workers against a "race to the bottom", is it not a sobering statistic - cited in John Kelly's article in your edition of February 7th in relation to the employment of people with disabilities - that between 50 and 70 per cent of people with disabilities in Ireland are unemployed at a time of "full employment".
I for one would call on the partnership talks to put this national scandal centre-stage in their on-going deliberations. For too long people with disabilities have been "at the bottom" of Irish society. Shame on us all. - Yours, etc,
PAT HOEY, Usher's Island, Dublin 8.
