Sir, – The ongoing closure of Garda stations, banks and post offices seems to afford little or no consideration to our country relatives. The latest being the reduction in bus services to the capital on the basis of non-profitable routes and with little regard to the inconvenience it may cause.
Surely some thought should be given to our country folk who don’t benefit from the amenities we in the major cities enjoy, such as proximity to hospitals, third-level colleges, cinemas, theatres, Dart and Luas lines.
After all, they are subject to the same income and property taxes, but have few of the benefits, except the fresh air! – Yours, etc,
