Speaking at the 13th International Peat Congress in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on June 9th, Gabriel D'Arcy, managing director of Bord na Móna, outlined the company's position in relation to peat bogs, confirmed that Bord na Móna would not open any new peatlands and estimated that the reserves from the current stock of peatlands would continue to provide peat for approximately 25 years.

Bord na Móna is already pursuing a strategy of diversification into alternative energy sources, including wind energy and biomass. - Yours, etc,
