Sir, – On considering the future of astrology, Simon O'Neill (December 5th) is optimistic given "a regular, self-replenishing supply of gullible, exploitable fools who are happy to disregard logic in favour of unverifiable nonsense". This should also afford a degree of comfort to those concerned for the future of organised religion. – Yours, etc,
GERRY WALKER,
Tinahely, Co Wicklow.
Sir, – Having heard from S Young (December 8th) about how we should not be so quick to dismiss astrology, I am left feeling a bit frustrated. We were treated to such concepts as "cosmic symbolic language", "energy"," aspects of our unconscious self", "the lens of our own innate predispositions" and how "physical energy and psychic energy reflect each other". All I needed was "quantum reality" and I would have had a full house. – Is mise,

Sir, – Who could have predicted the avalanche of letters on astrology? – Yours, etc,
BRIAN AHERN,
