Donald Trump and climate change

A chara,–We should not worry unduly about global warming, as many people seem to be, if Donald Trump is elected the next president of the United States. After, or perhaps simultaneously with, defeating Isis and making America great again, he is also going to make the whole world, and its climate, great again.

Mr Trump has a plan for all of this. It is a secret at present. I am just not sure what it will entail. Just as he intends to appoint new generals and economists, he will also appoint new scientists and dismiss the existing ones who are telling him things that he knows are wrong.

The only slightly worrying aspect of all of this for the naive and gullible among you may be that Mr Trump is still pressing on with his urgent planning application to build a wall to protect his golf course in Doonbeg, Co Clare. Those non-believers among you may well ask if Mr Trump is that certain about being elected president and that sure of his facts about climate change, or the lack thereof, why is he still seeking to build a wall in Clare? The answer is of course simple. He is also absolutely fantastic at business and so is getting a special offer – two walls for the price of one! Simple. – Is mise,
