Sir, - The Belfast Agreement was represented to voters on this island as a vehicle to bring those parties allegedly no longer associated with terrorism into the democratic family. However, Dr Mo Mowlam's recent statement on the state of the IRA ceasefire is further proof, if needed, that the whole "peace process" has become a cancer eating away at the moral and democratic fabric of this land.
Dublin and London have now given the green light to both republican and loyalist terrorists to continue to murder and mutilate within their own communities, while their political representatives negotiate the future of this island. Worse still, it would seem that the IRA will be allowed to rearm - just in case the two governments stop their policy of appeasement. - Yours, etc.,
Tony Moriarity, Shanid Road, Kenilworth Park, Dublin 6w.
