Sir, In your Weekend Section of April 6th, 1996, one of your writers gave a review of the film Dr Zhivago. His caustic tirade rated the movie as a chocolate box bowdlerisation of Boris Pasternak's novel he called it vacuous rubbish, with Omar Sharif bordering on the ridiculous in the lead and the rest of the cast looking lost amid Lean's grandiose compositions.
I, along with everyone that I know, think that Dr Zhivago was one of the finest films ever made. The music from the film was outstanding. Yours, etc., PE, Gortaha, Portumna, Co Galway.
