Sir, - Oliver McCann of Aer Rianta (October 3rd) trumpets the doubling of the number of baggage reclaim belts from five to 10 as part of the (ever) ongoing improvements at Dublin Airport.
Last Friday week I flew from Mahon, Menorca to Dublin. The flight lasted 140 minutes. The first piece of baggage appeared on the reclaim belt 51 minutes after touchdown.
It may be an idea for Aer Rianta to double the number of baggage-handling staff, rather than the length of time for which returning travellers are left waiting in the baggage hall. - Is mise,
Ronan O'Dubhain, Scholarstown Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.
