A Chara, - I recently visited Dublin after a long absence and I was impressed. Having lived in Europe for a while, I recognise the Corpo's attempt to give the city back to its people, particularly to those whose mobility does not involve using a car, either by choice or circumstance.
The quality bus corridors with their traffic calming on access roads, defined cycle tracks, clearly define bus lanes and pedestrian crossings clearly signal that the Corpo understands that the city is a system for all people, not a system exclusively for people with cars.
The new parking regime with information displays, Travel FM and disc pre-payment make parking choices more informed and place responsibilities and consequences firmly on the parker's shoulders.
Well done Dublin Corpo, your city needs you. - Yours, etc.,
Proinsias Mac an Tuile, Ballycroy, Co. Mayo.
