Sir, - I refer to Mr Dan Kahn's letter (September 16th) regarding city centre car parks, in which he ascribes certain views to me. He has misread my letter of September 3rd. I do not share his concern about the growth of major car parks in central Dublin.

In pace with the regeneration of the city, they are logical and necessary, either as integrated or stand alone developments. I merely drew attention to the apparent anomaly between the expectations of developers and the aspirations of the DTO - which I support in principle.

My primary concern was to elicit information on the proposed revised traffic routes for those obliged to cross the city centre by car from south to north, or vice versa. I thank John Henry of the DTO for his response, and trust that the traffic management plan presented to Minister Lowry contains solutions that can meet with universal approval. Yours, etc.,
