DUBLIN TRAFFIC CHANGES

ARTHUR DUNNE,

ARTHUR DUNNE,

Sir, - I can appreciate the Minister for Transport, Mr Brennan, being miffed and giving out to the Dublin City Council (where he apparently has some little authority) about the new signage. I also note that, despite consultation with the Garda since 1998, the force called into question the Minister's intention to introduce the new penalty points system manually next October.

That being the case, could not the Minister arrange to authorise and train members of his own office and departmental staff in the various procedures and set them out on the roads? You never know, it might even slow down the traffic for a while. - Yours, etc.,

ARTHUR DUNNE,
