Sir, – Davin O'Dwyer, writing about the new Dublin traffic plan, refers to the Toronto City Council debating a similar traffic plan and "fudging it" ("Dublin city planners taking cars out of the picture", June 13th). All I can say is at least it got a chance to debate it. Here, even after the so-called local government reforms, the Dublin traffic plan was devised and adopted by city officials and the National Transportation Authority. It was presented to (some) councillors several hours after the officials launched it. – Yours, etc,
Cllr DERMOT LACEY,
Donnybrook,
Dublin 4.
