Madam, - Minister for Finance Brian Cowen recently dismissed concerns about the economy's reliance on the construction industry by saying that demand for housing remained strong, particularly from people coming to Ireland for work.
What he doesn't seem to realise is that, yes, the construction industry is storming ahead, building houses and apartments - many of which are bought by investors who then rent them out to people. . .who come to Ireland to work in the construction industry. - Yours, etc,
