Sir, - Olwen Atanackovic (March 28th) asserts that young people do not vote because they are lazy and selfish. Lazy and selfish we may be, but the real reason that we do not vote is we see no substantial difference between the choices offered to us on our ballot papers - something which our hectoring seniors ignore in order that they may throw their hands to heaven and decry the morality of "the youth of today".
Is it political apathy and selfishness that drives young people onto the streets in Seattle and Genoa? - Yours etc.,
