Madam, - We motorists contribute nearly €5 billion annually in fuel and other motor-related taxes, so lack of funds cannot be given as an excuse by the Government for failing to provide adequate law enforcement on the roads. We must have traffic law enforcement round the clock and countrywide to curtail the awful carnage.
If a quarter of last year's deaths on our roads, which totalled 400, were murdered in this State, there would be uproar from politicians from all parties. - Yours, etc,
