Sir, – It is rare that an article moves me to tears, but full credit to your writer Keith Duggan for a superb feature on the late German goalkeeper, Robert Enke (Sport, October 1st).
Mr Duggan’s ability to condense such a sad story of suicide into such readability is to be commended. It stands out for me as the best sports feature in years and you would need a heart of stone not to have shed a tear when reading of Enke’s battle with depression and how vulnerable young sports people can be treated by clubs, particularly ones like Barcelona which cultivate such a club of the people mantra.
