WESLEY J. BECK,
Sir, - For some time we have been told that the "change" is in our pockets, especially as we were preparing for the euro. I have a small business and my ESB standing charge has gone from £8.75 (€11.02) to €20.95. I rang the relevant ESB office in Limerick and after 16 minutes I still did not get a satisfactory explanation.
How can our Electricity Supply Board justify this exorbitant increase? Have other small business people noticed this escalation? When all is considered, it is indeed only the "change" we have in our pockets. - Yours, etc.
WESLEY J. BECK,
