Madam, - I buy The Irish Times every day and the first page I open is the Letters page and Kevin Myers's Irishman's Diary. I then photocopy it and post it to a daughter who lives abroad.
When Mr Myers writes about the onslaught of Islam, the double-standard lows in this country as applied to itinerants or the Irish language, he never fails to raise my spirits. His voice is the only sane one in a newspaper riddled with "lefty do-gooders" who cannot distinguish fact from fiction.
In fact, the only subject on which I would disagree with his views is when he touches on Irish nationalism. - Yours, etc.,
