Madam, - The proposed AIB investigations by the offices of the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority, the Director of Corporate Enforcement and the Revenue Commissioners can, in all essence, be classified as "financial archaeology". All are taking place well after the event.

What is required to restore trust to this industry is a strict code of ethics to which every employee signs up. It should be reinforced by a whistleblowers' charter, protected by law, to protect any employee who sees something wrong and wants to say so without fear of reprisals. - Yours, etc.,
