Sir, – With Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan seeking the reintroduction of the death penalty and displaying scant regard for law, surely now the EU will have to revoke its disgraceful refugee agreement with Turkey – a deal castigated by Amnesty International as “reckless and illegal”.
