Sir, - On February 9th, the day before yesterday, Texas plucked another bird off the fence. Steven Renfro was injected with lethal poison; his death received little attention. He asked that no appeals be pursued and went voluntarily to the death chamber. It took Texas only 10 months to oblige. Steven Renfro became the second person put to death in Texas this year and the 146th overall in the state since capital punishment resumed there on December 7th, 1982.
