MEGHAN QUIGLEY (Age 11),
Madam, - Before January 2002, when the euro was introduced, my pocket money was £3.50. Now it is €5. When I found out I was very excited. I though I was rich. But my favourite ice cream Iceberger used to be 55p; now it's €1. I converted this and it isn't the right amount. Maybe grown-ups don't realise.
With my £3.50 I could buy six Icebergers. Now I can only buy five. I don't care if you don't print this. I just want you to know these days me and all my friends can't buy so many things with our pocket money. I didn't mind the changes but the more expensive prices have made me hate the whole thing. - Yours, etc.,
