Madam, - Kieran Fagan was right to complain about Irish accommodation charges in your issue of August 3rd. Here is my recent experience.
Within weeks of spending €45 a night in a luxury hotel in Fiji, I booked into a B&B in Adare, Co Limerick, because I was too tired to drive on.
After paying €50 as a single person, I found there were six faults with the place. No hot water; no zapper for the TV; no switch for the bedside light; no breakfasts served before 8.30 and no supplies for the room's tea-maker.
And the sixth fault? When I politely mentioned these to the owner, she laughed. - Yours, etc.,
