Madam, – It is an offence for dog owners not to clean up after their dogs. Our doorstep and drive are constantly being fouled by the same woman’s dog. We don’t know her or where she lives. There are numerous signs in our area from the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council warning of fines for dog fouling, but having consulted the council, the only way a fine can be issued is if the dog owner’s name and address is known.
Surely it would make sense for all dog owners to be obliged to attach a tag on their dog, carrying the owner’s name, address and contact number? – Yours, etc,
