A chara, - Kevin Myers's Irishman's Diary of May 27 dealt with the case of a former soldier who had raped six little girls. This is clearly an abominable act. However, the former soldier is still a human being, and for Mr Myers to call him "a worthless piece of scum" and "this animal" and "a reptile" and "a vile piece of filth" is totally out of order. This is the language of the gutter and of the lynch-mob, and is unworthy of your newspaper. - Yours, etc.,
