Sir, - Michael O'Leary (March 26th) quite rightly slams Aer Rianta's 23 per cent rise in daily car-parking rates. Perhaps, however, he should look a little closer to home when citing cases of "gouging" customers.
I recently travelled with Ryanair from Dublin to Stansted. The cost of my flight was €319.98 return, excluding booking charges and taxes. Most of the people on that flight had paid low fares but because I had to book at short notice I was charged this obscene price.
Compared with this the car-parking charges seem positively reasonable. - Yours, etc.,
