Madam, - Currently we are experiencing the first heat-wave since 1995. You immediately jump on the bandwagon of doom and gloom about global warming and warn people amid the ice cream and seaside swims that it may herald a darker future. As a Met Office employee, I read a temperature of 95.6 degrees Fahrenheit at the Mullingar station during August 1955. That was almost half-a-century ago and the world is still the same and will remain unchanged, simply because it possesses the means of correcting man's damaging influences as each threat arises. This survival process is governed by a super intelligence way beyond man's capacity to understand.
