Sir, - Ann Duggan (April 4th) suggests leaving food out for foxes. As a farmer I have been interested in the survival of foxes in urban areas, where these opportunist feeders and have learnt to live on human excess.
As city foxes get used to being fed and start to lose their inherited fear of man, their bravado will increase and it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that one of these semi-domestic foxes will some day run off with a baby. Remember the dingo. - Yours, etc.
